About: Market Intelligence (Research)

Research and market intelligence is brought to the Partnership and it's members through the Dorset Tourism Data Project (DTDP).
 
Market research, undertaken by the Market Research Group (MRG), part of Bournemouth University's School of Service Industries, provides a flow of tourism intelligence to aid the effective functioning of the Partnership's marketing and Business and Skills activities as well as for all its Local Authority partners. 

The MRG also has primary responsibility for the Business and Skills research programme, and for the complimentary research needs of the Dorset New Forest Tourism Partnership.

Output from the Research and Intelligence function should enable partners in the sub-region to:

Evaluate, monitor and plan for tourism development
Plan and evaluate effective promotional and marketing campaigns
Evaluate the sustainability of tourism within the local area
Provide two way link with other regional research initiatives such as the Regional Observatory and Englandnet
