With the small business owner in mind, this course has been selected to explain the fundamentals of marketing practice and how, through a hands-on approach, they can be applied to the planning, design and production of publicity materials.
This 2 day course is likely to appeal to those who would benefit from exposure to the communication and marketing process. Marketing Principles and Practice has been extracted from the Level 2 First Diploma in Travel and Tourism and is delivered by tutors from Weymouth College (Dorchester course) and Bournemoth & Poole College (Bournemouth course).
Course aims: This course aims to introduce the principles of marketing and how they are applied generally and in the travel and tourism industry in particular. In today's dynamic marketplace it is becoming increasingly important for all those inolved in the industry to have an awareness of marketing and how it can be applied.
Upon successful completion candidates will be awarded a unit accreditation of City & Guilds Level 2 First Diploma in Travel and Tourism

Day 2 Plan and carry out a promotional campaign for a travel or tourism organisation Planning Promotional materials Stages - Research, planning, preparation, implementation and evaluation Objectives Factors - timing, budget, target market
To finish there will be a workplace visit by the tutor to provide feedback on promotional literature produced as part of the course.
This is an introduction to marketing course and is suitable for those with limited or no exposure to the principles of marketing.
